Some of you may know I have recently got back into running after a hiatus of nearly 15 years. Well to cut a long story short I have somehow managed to enroll myself in an endurance event in the South Island called St. James Ultra http://www.stjamesultra.co.nz/
It is normally a 5 day tramp covering 69 kilometres which has to be completed in under 12 hours. This will in effect be the longest distance I have ever run (the last being the Rotorua Marathon in my early 30's).
So what! you may say - (or silly bugger or words to that effect)
Well rather than stroke my own ego I intend to do this run as a form of sponsorship for a particular charity that has struck a chord with me.
It's a charity about children and how much we love them and hold a special place for them in our hearts. Its about a little girl who paid the ultimate sacrifice and the legacy that has followed to keep her memory alive.
