Kate Scott is a registered counselling, educational, and developmental psychologist with over 20 years’ experience supporting children and families in a range of settings. She holds postgraduate certification in Child Centred Play Therapy & CCPT Supervision (NIRE, USA), and has worked in schools, specialist behaviour services, community mental health, and child development services. Kate currently works part-time at a school with children aged 0-13 and maintains a private practice. For the past 7 years, she has facilitated Kids Club for the Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC Christchurch), working alongside children and families impacted by cancer. Play therapy is most suited to children aged 4-12, but Kate welcomes clients of all ages. Her approach is compassionate and flexible, providing psychological assessment and support for emotional, behavioural, developmental, and parenting challenges, and she draws on Humanistic, Narrative, CBT, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to best meet each family’s unique needs.
